Andes Graphite and Fiberglass Rods

Andes Graphite Rod Blanks are a product of Axiom North America; which is partly owned and operated by St. Croix of Park Falls, LTD. [St. Croix Rods]. This means that the same high quality materials and graphite manufacturing technology is which has made St. Croix successful is behind the production of Andes Rods. Axiom NA stands behind our promise to offer a limited lifetime warranty to all Andes graphite. See our warranty page for details.

“I personally selected this series of graphite quality, taper and action to represent the Andes brand. The Andes Mountains are half Chilean and run the length of this country into Patagonia. Such a rod should bare Chile’s native wood, a copper color with traditional wraps, and Mapuche Indiand influenced designs in the handle.

If making an affordable rod was our goal then performance and quality of materials and workmanship would surly be compromised.

Andes Grapite Fly Rods

Andes fast action graphite fly rods provide good line control and speed for most fishing situations. Nearly all Andes fly rods are 9 foot, with the exception of the 3 wt- 8.5 foot. Our custom rod colors are copper metallic, pink metallic, dark green metallic, and natural graphite. We put these rods in the hands of Chilean guides and asked them for their honest feedback. Read their testaments bellow.

Andes Fiberglass Fly Rods

Andes red fiberglass fly rods are limited to two models, the 4 wight, 7 foot- 8 inche, 4 piece and the 3 weight, 6 foot- 7 inche, 4 piece. We build these with a variety of different reel seats, seat inserts like acrylic, and traditional light wire snake guides. They include a protective rod sock; a hard tube is optional. Visit our shop if you’d like to see or cast one of Andes red glass rods.

We usually have each of these models built up and ready to go, unless you prefer to design your own for us to build. These are our most economical custom fly rod among all the rods we offer. These short, light weight, traditional fiberglass rods are excellent small stream tools. Dry flies and wet flies on light leaders give anglers the full experience of glass, especially when that full flexing rod is battling a feisty fish.

Take it from our Chilean Friends:

“I tried an Andes graphite 6 weight fly rod by Rodmaker of Chile and found it to be an excellent rod. The tried fishing from a canoe, where precision is required and some distance. Due to the unstable of the boat had to launch sitting and not moving much so in those precise shots where it does not move more than the cane, I liked the ease in driving out line. once grabbed more confidence and started to load the rod to demand it more over long distances, I found it very good response quite powerful. the classified as medium action fast. Very rich cane, I recommend it 100%, apart from the excellent action of the blank, it comes with endings cane luxury. Caña facilitating learning fishermen are forming performance and great potential in the hands of experts. ” (Matias Planella Heinsen, fishing guide for several lodges in Patagonia and Alaska seasons).
