Looked like this before
Did you notice the alignment dot on the wraps? Some anglers prefer these.
Green thread later accented this wrap if you can imagine that.
This relatively simple diamond pattern became my signature on our 2003 boat rods
Of my my larger thread weave projects. Also later duplicated on my 10 wt. but smaller.
Another color pattern combination that made it onto a heavy fly rod of mine- 11 wt. Sage RPL
The fade and silver wraps were again used on my personal 10 wt. fly rod
We dug up these few photos from out offshore rod building period.
We built this in 2004 or 2005 for our summer guide job at Alaska Rainbow Lodge
We rarely put our decorative cork work into our own rods. Not sure why.
Green rod blank not appearing too green under these green wraps
We procured this yellow glass blank and made a good little rod out of it.
Every custom spinning reel seat should have an insert of some kind. We can do better than this burl.
If only the first handle had a reel seat insert and some cork inlays in it.
Cork Seal is nice for preserving, protecting, and darkening cork handles.
A decorative wraps can be done on a ferrule, guide underwrap, or fish length mark.
Custom AGATE stripping guides are a fine detail to add to a fiberglass fly rod.
Spinning, Casting, or Fly rod handles and butts look sharp when built with cork accents.
